What is the opportunity?
This role is an integral position within the Parks Department. The Mechanic is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs on all park maintenance equipment and vehicles, as well as other mechanical equipment at pools and other facilities, and may occasionally supervise full‑ and part‑time maintenance staff.
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance (fluids, tires, filters) on vehicles, mowers, tractors, etc.
- Conduct emergency repairs in the field.
- Inspect and repair engines, systems, ignitions, and lighting; weld and fabricate steel.
- Maintain records, recommend purchases, and coordinate inspections.
- Winterize and service equipment; assist with pools and manage inventory.
- Perform snow removal and continue education.
- Repair buildings, irrigation, and other duties as directed.

Hand and power tools, welding equipment, OBD, hoist, office equipment. - Demands:
Lift 20–50 lbs, manual dexterity, vision, timely work organization. - Conditions:
Indoor garage; occasional outdoors; noise exposure.
Follow district policies: maintain safe areas, use judgment, report issues, and adhere to instructions and ergonomics.
Qualifications- 18+ years old.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years automotive repair experience.
- Valid Class B CDL.
Full‑time, non‑exempt. Pay $28–36 per hour (DOQ).
Hours:
Monday–Friday 7 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; flexible as needed.
