The Julie Morrison for State Senate Campaign is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to serve as Field Organizers. State Senator Julie Morrison is running for re-election to the Illinois State Senate. As Chair of the Illinois Senate Insurance Committee, she has led major reforms like expanding consumer protections for children, strengthening gun safety, and holding insurers accountable so families can get the care they need.

She has also been a strong defender of reproductive rights and environmental safeguards. This is a community-centered campaign with organizing at the heart of the effort.

Field Organizers are the front line of the campaign's voter contact program. They will engage directly with voters, recruit and train volunteers, and build local networks to share Julie's vision across the district. Field Organizers will report to a County Coordinator and work closely with fellow organizers to meet ambitious voter-contact and volunteer goals. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on campaign experience in the 29th Senate District.

This is a part time position, approximately 10-15 hours per week, with the opportunity for more the closer we get to the election.

• Conducting direct voter contact through but not limited to door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and text outreach.
• Recruit, train, and retain volunteers to build sustainable neighborhood teams.
• Support and execute volunteer events, visibility efforts, and community outreach.
• Track and report daily voter-contact numbers and volunteer engagement metrics in VAN.
• Represent the campaign at community events and coalition meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work long, flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable engaging with voters outdoors and in diverse communities.
• Prior campaign or community-organizing experience; familiarity with VAN or voter-contact tools; access to reliable transportation.

The hourly compensation for the role will be $20-$22 an hour, based on experience.
