Mailroom Clerk – Full Time

Location:

Deerfield, IL (60015)

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:15 am – 5:15 pm
Pay Range: $20.00 per hour to $20.25 per hour

Accurately and promptly processes all Mail and Distribution Services items with the highest level of customer service.
International and bulk shipping experience required.
Must have exceptional customer service skills.

• Receive, sort, deliver, pick up and process courier items, interoffice mail, magazines and all classes of USPS mail.
• Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
• Track courier and accountable items (Fed Ex, UPS, Certified Mail, etc.).
• Properly package, mark, label and process all Non‑Hazardous and Hazardous materials using courier‑specific software (Fed Ex, UPS, DHL, etc.).
• Research and route unidentified and generic mail.
• Coordinate, stage, and transport bulk mail items.
• Receive, log, deliver and track messenger items.
• Follow all processes established in the client standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor packages for hazardous and suspicious materials.
• Follow established customer inquiry processes and respond to customer needs and requests.
• Maintain accurate records of customer inquiries and fulfillment of requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant prior customer service experience.
• Preferred current Dangerous Goods shipping certificate (49 CFR & IATA).
• Preferred working knowledge of domestic and international shipping of dangerous and non‑dangerous goods including country‑specific guidelines.
• Preferred experience using shipping software required by common shipping carriers (UPS, DHL, Fed Ex, etc.).
• International and bulk shipping experience.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
