Manufacturing Project Engineer

This privately-held company will make you feel at home and part of the family. Non-automotive manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer to join their engineering team. As the Manufacturing Project Engineer, you will report to a Senior Manufacturing Project Engineer. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Managing tool builds and modifications with external tooling shops
• Quoting new business
• Communicating with customers on engineering changes
• Interacting with various departments in the plant on the status of new business and engineering changes, including production and quality
• Establishing proper document control based on ISO 9001:2015 standards
• Partnering with quality to establish control plans for the plant and create operator instructions
• Reviewing blueprints on a regular basis
• Championing the site's continuous improvements initiatives, including scrap reductions and efficiency improvements
• Other duties as directed by management

This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the production floor up to 40% of their day. Candidates should enjoy working within a team environment, completing multiple projects at a time, communicating daily with customers and external tool shops and be self-motivated. Requirements for the Manufacturing Project Engineer:

• Minimum of an Associate's degree, with a Bachelor's degree highly preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology or Manufacturing Technology
• Work experience, co-ops and/or internships highly preferred
• Ability to read blueprints
• 3D modeling software
• Microsoft Office experience

Skills preferred but NOT required:

• Working knowledge of GD&T
• New model or quality exposure
• Experience with continuous improvements
• Tooling experience
• Strong CI experience
