From water mitigation, fire/smoke recovery, mold remediation, biohazard/trauma remediation to catastrophic recovery and full service repairs; and commercial/industrial cleaning — we do it all, 24/7. We’re on the hunt for a Controller who is equal parts numbers ninja and hands-on hustler. You’ll steer our financial ship with precision, deliver insights that fuel smart decisions, and help us scale profitably—embracing our Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) basics (think Scorecards, Rocks, and IDS meetings). This role reports to Brandon McCann, President/Owner, and centers on turning financial data into actionable wins.

This is not a remote position; we thrive on in-person collaboration at our Defiance headquarters.

• Own the full accounting suite: GL, AP/AR, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close.
• Drive cash flow management, banking, tax compliance, audits, and insurance-claim financial tracking.
• Produce financial statements, variance reports, KPIs, and EOS-friendly dashboards for productive Level 10 Meetings.
• Manage the Centralized Ops Team, handling facilities maintenance, asset management, resource allocation, and behind-the-scenes needs to support field teams.
• Mentor and develop the finance team (and support Centralized Ops growth).
• Collaborate with operations on job costing, project profitability, cost controls, and growth initiatives.
• Champion GAAP compliance, strong controls, and ethical practices aligned with values.
• Contribute proactive ideas to strategic planning to grow profitability while maintaining client relationships.

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in accounting, finance, or similar; CPA/CMA experience is a plus. Experience and work ethic valued over formal degrees.
• 5+ years in progressive financial leadership, ideally in service/project-based businesses (restoration, construction, or cleaning experience is a bonus).
• Basic working knowledge of EOS concepts (traction tools, meeting rhythms, accountability).
• Ability to work hard, handle crunch times and storm-season overtime when needed.
• Excel expertise and experience with accounting software (Quick Books, Sage, etc.), with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• High integrity, faith-aligned values, and a passion for team growth and profitable client wins.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex finances clearly.
