Summary/Objective:
The Junior Technician Apprentice participates in a structured 1.5-year apprenticeship program designed to develop technical skills in industrial machine maintenance and automation systems.

The apprentice will learn a variety of industrial maintenance practices including safety, blueprint reading, machine assembly, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and PLC systems. The program combines on-the-job training and technical coursework to prepare the apprentice for a future role as a qualified industrial technician.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain both automated and manual machines used in production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on machines and equipment.
  • Record maintenance activities and repair work in the maintenance management system.
  • Replace, repair, and fabricate components for production equipment when required.
  • Work closely with experienced toolmakers, technicians and control engineers to develop practical technical skills.
  • Participate in structured technical training courses as part of the 1.5‑year apprenticeship program.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and productivity.

    Required Experience:

    • No prior work experience required (entry‑level training program).
    • Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge is an advantage.
    • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Ability to read technical drawings or blueprints (preferred).
    • Basic problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Good communication and safety awareness.

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Preference for candidates with vocational or technical education in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical / Industrial Electrical
    • Mechatronics/ Automation
    • Industrial Maintenance

    Training required:

    During the apprenticeship program, the apprentice will receive training in:

    • Industrial machine maintenance
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Pneumatic systems
    • PLC troubleshooting
    • Machine assembly and installation
    • Plant safety and maintenance procedures
