Summary/Objective:
The Junior Technician Apprentice participates in a structured 1.5-year apprenticeship program designed to develop technical skills in industrial machine maintenance and automation systems.
The apprentice will learn a variety of industrial maintenance practices including safety, blueprint reading, machine assembly, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and PLC systems. The program combines on-the-job training and technical coursework to prepare the apprentice for a future role as a qualified industrial technician.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
“The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities.”
Required Experience:
- No prior work experience required (entry‑level training program).
- Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings or blueprints (preferred).
- Basic problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Good communication and safety awareness.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preference for candidates with vocational or technical education in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical / Industrial Electrical
- Mechatronics/ Automation
- Industrial Maintenance
Training required:
During the apprenticeship program, the apprentice will receive training in:
- Industrial machine maintenance
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Pneumatic systems
- PLC troubleshooting
- Machine assembly and installation
- Plant safety and maintenance procedures
