Position: Program Assistant Advanced-Confidential (DeForest or Tomah)
Position Summary

The Program Assistant Advanced-Confidential provides confidential administrative and complex program administrative support to the Southwest Region Commander, Executive Officer, and first line supervisors in the Southwest Region.

Responsibilities include:

* Developing, implementing, and maintaining an automated computer system utilizing computer equipment.

* Composing and preparing correspondence utilizing various Microsoft processing programs.

* Preparing and maintaining files of all necessary reports and forms.

* Coordinating the flow of information from the command staff to the employees, outside agencies, and the general public.

* Completing all open record requests in a timely and efficient manner

* Updating and maintaining the Southwest Region's confidential and general correspondence filing systems.

This position requires a high level of independence and enables the Southwest Region to meet and maintain its goals and objectives in highway safety and traffic law enforcement.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (81-05) with an hourly rate of $26.00-$28.41, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

A comprehensive background investigation will be conducted as part of the recruitment process for top candidates. Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants must meet all the following:

* Experience using Microsoft Office Suite or comparable, such as Word, Excel, and/or Outlook in a professional setting.

* Experience providing customer service such as answering questions, resolving issues, explaining policies, etc.

* Experience providing administrative assistance in a professional environment.

In addition to all the above, well-qualified applicants must meet one or more of the following:

* Experience or training with open records processing and laws.

* Experience or training with video, audio, or document redaction.

* Experience utilizing discretion with sensitive and/or confidential communications and situations.
