Role Summary
The Purchasing Agent coordinates the procurement of goods and services to support production and plant operations, while following established procedures and adopting new technologies.
Key responsibilities include sourcing and buying materials (including plastics resins, components, packaging, and MRO), maintaining accurate purchasing records in the ERP system, communicating with suppliers and internal partners, and supporting timely delivery and cost‑effective supply.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of purchasing experience using an ERP system
- Experience with plastics and/or MRO purchasing
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
- Organized, self‑motivated team player with reliable attendance
- APICS Certification in Supply Chain/Inventory Management
Your day is spent onsite in DeForest, working closely with manufacturing and planning while monitoring open orders and supplier confirmations. You’ll review system updates in the ERP, respond to questions from internal teams, and keep purchasing documentation current and audit‑ready. Throughout the day, you’ll balance routine follow‑up with time‑sensitive needs—tracking inbound materials, addressing shortages, and coordinating changes as requirements shift. You’ll also use standard work instructions and available tools to keep information accurate, communication clear, and priorities aligned through the workday.
