From libraries to schools, our products help shape learning spaces across the country. We're looking for a detail-oriented Upholstery Technician to join our manufacturing team and help build high-quality soft seating products that inspire learning.

No upholstery experience? No problem. We're looking for people with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. If you enjoy building, creating, crafting, woodworking, sewing, or working with your hands, we'll teach you the technical skills needed to succeed.

In this role, you'll:
  • Sew fabric panels and upholstery patterns using industrial sewing equipment
  • Cut and prepare fabric utilizing templates while minimizing material waste
  • Wrap foam cores and cushion components with precision and consistency
  • Assemble upholstered frames and components according to work order specifications
  • Complete final finishing steps including stapling, trimming, wrapping, and tacking
  • Inspect products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality standards are met
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns before products move to the next production stage
  • Complete production documentation using both printed and digital work orders
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and follow all safety procedures
  • Support other areas within the Value Center as production needs change
Qualified candidates will have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Ability to perform precise handwork in tight spaces
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions
  • Experience with fabric handling, sewing, or stitch techniques is helpful, but not required. We'll train motivated individuals who are eager to learn
  • An interest in building, woodworking, crafting, sewing, DIY projects, or other hands-on creative work is encouraged, as these skills often translate well to upholstery
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Why Choose This Role with Demco?
  • Build products that support learning environments across the country
  • Develop specialized upholstery and manufacturing skills
  • Work alongside a team that values quality craftsmanship and collaboration
  • Be part of a company culture that encourages innovation, continuous improvement, and doing great work together
  • Comprehensive insurance options
  • Paid time off including 10 paid holidays and paid volunteer time
  • 401(k) match
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth

Our team enjoys a collaborative work environment that’s fun, autonomous, and celebrates your efforts to become a subject matter expert in your role.
