HVAC Technician

Kwik Trip's Store Engineering Department has an opening for an HVAC Technician.

DeForest, WI

What you'll be doing…

As an HVAC Technician at Kwik Trip, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across our facilities. You'll play a key role in ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to support store operations and coworker comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on HVAC systems and related equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues
  • Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
  • Order and manage parts inventory for service and repairs
  • Change filters, clean, and adjust HVAC systems to maintain peak performance
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and schematics
  • Ensure compliance with HVAC codes and safety standards

You'll need to have…

  • High school diploma or GED
  • HVAC degree or equivalent technical education
  • EPA Universal Certification (optional)
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of electrical control circuits, plumbing, ductwork, and refrigerants
  • Understanding of applicable HVAC codes and safety regulations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk frequently (up to 8+ hours per day)
  • Lift up to 75 pounds
  • Bend, squat, twist, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently
  • Grasp, pinch, and grip tools and equipment
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures

Work Schedule:

40–50 hours per week. Typically Monday through Friday, daytime hours. This position includes rotating on-call responsibilities, including evening and weekend shifts as needed.
