Truck Driver - Hiker​/Vehicle Transporter​/CDL - Part Time

Overview

Penske Truck Leasing seeks qualified applicants for the position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This on-call, part-time role delivers vehicles to Penske locations and customers and may assist the service department by delivering parts and equipment. This position primarily moves box trucks up to 26 feet; for CDL Class A drivers, tractors and trailers are included.

Location:

6485 Stack Dr, Windsor, WI 53598. Shift: 3 days a week, 8am–4pm, must work Friday. Pay:
Class A drivers $20 per hour;
Class B drivers $18 per hour.

This is a casual/on-call opportunity suited for licensed CDL Class B or Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and looking to work 0 to 25 hours per week based on business needs.

• Follow safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske locations or customer destinations.
• Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order; report issues to the location manager.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.
• Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• Valid Class B CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
• English language proficiency is required to comply with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)).
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file, including an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a completed DOT physical, and Safety Performance History records from prior employers in the last 3 years. CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and are subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel as necessary; work the required schedule at the required location; complete Penske employment application; submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.

• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs (23kg) and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs (45kg).
• Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
