Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Day Care Licensing Team Clerical. Under direction, this position will provide clerical support as a secretary to a unit supervisor and professional staff. The position will answer phones, greet visitors, maintain files, and perform general clerical functions, in addition to compiling and assembling data.
This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s operations. Job Responsibilities- Serves as Day Care Licensing Team Clerical
- Greets visitors and answers incoming phone calls to determine the nature of the request, many of which may be hostile
- As a word processing operator, compiles and assembles data
- Establishes and maintains filing system, monitoring to ensure information is readily available for reference/viewing
- Generates first (standardized) response to applicant
- Compiles information necessary to prepare travel vouchers for assigned staff
- Receives, sorts, opens, reads, and distributes incoming mail
- Follows oral and written instructions, gaining knowledge and experience in and applying evolving automated office equipment and technology to complete complex tasks
