Summary of Position

Provides excellent customer service while welcoming patrons to the aquatic facility by processing admissions, handling transactions, answering questions, and performing essential job duties and responsibilities.

Supervision Received

Reports to the Pool Operations Manager, Aquatics Supervisor, and Hopkins Facilities and Aquatics Manager.

Supervision Exercised

None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets patrons in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Processes daily admissions, memberships, passes, and other point-of-sale transactions using district software systems.
  • Accurately handles cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
  • Balances cash drawer and completes daily financial reports as assigned.
  • Answers patron questions regarding admissions, facility policies, programs, schedules, and aquatic facility rules.
  • Complete incident/accident reports as required.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all Park District policies, aquatic facility rules, and admission procedures.
  • Monitors cleanliness and organization of admissions area, including equipment and storage areas.
  • Monitors admission gate and controls facility access including conducting bag checks.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions, facility concerns, and patron issues to supervisor.
  • Promptly reports any work-related or patron injuries to supervisor.
  • Uses good safety awareness and judgement; corrects unsafe conditions and/or reports them to supervisor.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; respond to requests for service and assistance.
Peripheral Duties
  • Participate in required district training programs.
  • Assist with special events and facility rentals.
  • Perform custodial duties as necessary.
  • Provide backup to related positions when possible.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Must be 16 years of age or older; preference given to individuals 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience in customer service preferred.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to operate cash registers and point-of-sale systems accurately.
  • Ability to handle cash and reconcile daily receipts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, staff, and supervisors.
  • Well organized and strong ability to work independently as well as with others.
  • Ability to follow directions and give clear instructions.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle negative feedback from patrons.
  • Ability to portray a professional image of the District.
Special Requirements
  • Possess and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or obtain within an established timeframe.
