Position Title:

Global Marketing Instructor (Part‑time, 25% FTE)

Location:

BH 128, College of Business, Northern Illinois University.

Position Summary

The Department of Marketing at the College of Business, Northern Illinois University (NIU) is creating a pool of eligible part‑time instructors in the global marketing area to meet instruction needs from time to time. The earliest start date would be 1/1/2024, typically at the start of a fall or spring semester. The earliest end date would be 5/15/2024 for the current academic year, typically at the end of subsequent spring semesters.

NIU has approximately 16,000 students and is committed to improving outcomes for underserved populations. The AACSB‑accredited College of Business offers a highly engaged learning experience for about 2,000 undergraduates and 900 graduate students and is dedicated to building inclusive and equitable working and learning environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The part‑time instructors develop and teach one to two 2–3‑credit hour undergraduate and graduate global marketing classes each academic year. Topics covered may include Principles of Marketing, Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior, Buyer Behavior, Integrated Marketing Communication, Principles of Global Marketing, Global Marketing Management, and Global Marketing Strategy.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • MBA from an AACSB accredited university and at least 5 years of recent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of teaching experience in the respective areas.
Appointment and Compensation Details

Appointment Start:
As needed, typically at the start of a fall or spring semester.
Appointment End:
As needed, typically at the end of a subsequent spring semester.
Staff Year: 0.75 (25% FTE)
Hours per week: 37.5
Salary:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications; NIU offers a robust benefits package.
