Position Summary
Our Illinois Migrant Educational Services program delivers non‑credit instruction and supplemental supports to parents and children of migratory farm workers in Illinois. This Educator will provide instruction to eligible students ages 2–22 in math, reading, life skills, and social‑emotional learning, and develop culturally relevant STEAM curriculum. Bilingual Spanish proficiency (speaking and writing) is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and deliver curriculum and instruction to diverse learners.
- Recruit migrant children statewide and facilitate assessment and evaluation.
- Plan and lead tutoring, summer school, field trips, and family educational gatherings.
- Collaborate with school districts to enroll children and coordinate services.
- Provide out‑of‑school youth support up to age 22.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or an educational field.
- Minimum two years’ experience as an educator in a private or public setting.
- Experience with Latinx programming.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel 1–2 hours when required.
- Flexible schedule including weeknights and weekends.
- Ability to develop and implement informal educational curriculum for in‑school, secondary, and out‑of‑school youth.
- Strong organizational, presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and presentation technologies.
- Independent work with minimal supervision and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Active network of partners in K‑12 and informal education.
- Commitment to engaging higher education for underserved populations.
- Experience or endorsement in English as a Second Language.
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency.
- Residence in Champaign County or surrounding east‑central IL counties.
- Cover letter outlining how you meet the qualifications.

Appointment start date:
July 1 2025. End date:
June 30 2026. Full-time position, 1.00 staff year, 37.5 hours per week. Salary range $55,000–$65,000, commensurate with credentials, with a robust benefits package.
