Position Summary, Requirements, and QualificationsOverview

Position Summary
- The Department of Communication invites applications for instructor positions to create a pool for advance- and short-notice hiring based on program need. These will be part-time or full-time temporary instructor positions. Start dates will be based on program needs. The Instructor is a temporary (non-tenure track) position with duties that include teaching the fundamentals of oral communication and holding office hours.
The appointment is for up to one year, subject to program needs, but is renewable. Teaching may be in-person and/or online.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching load will be no more than 12 credit hours during the fall semester, no more than 12 credit hours during the spring semester; other duties may be assigned. Public speaking instructors will provide instruction in the classroom and/or online, using a standard course syllabus across multiple sections.
Minimum
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Communication or a closely related fieldA minimum of two years' experience teaching Public Speaking
