Cosmetology Instructor (Part-Time or Full-Time)
Debutantes School of Beauty is seeking a Cosmetology Instructor who wants to do more than teach from a textbook.
Our instructors bring real industry experience into the classroom and student salon, helping future beauty professionals develop their technical skills, creativity, confidence, and professionalism.
This position offers a flexible schedule of 15–40 hours per week
, depending on candidate availability and school needs.
Friday availability is our greatest priority

- Provide engaging classroom and hands‑on cosmetology instruction
- Demonstrate current techniques and industry best practices
- Supervise and coach students in the student salon
- Help students strengthen their technical skills, client communication, confidence, and professionalism
- Monitor student progress and maintain required records and documentation
- Reinforce sanitation, safety, and Illinois licensing standards
- Create a respectful, encouraging, and accountable learning environment
- Collaborate with fellow educators and participate in continued professional development
- A strong foundation in cosmetology and hair care
- Salon, spa, or other professional beauty‑industry experience
- Experience teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to excellent client care and customer service
- The ability to support students with different backgrounds and learning styles
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Comfort using basic technology for instruction, scheduling, and documentation
- Friday availability is strongly preferred and will be prioritized
