Supervisor to run the show behind the scenes - because at the Hampton Inn DeKalb and Home 2 DeKalb, spotless rooms and five-star first impressions aren't just a job. They're a point of pride.

DeKalb is more than a college town - it's a community with heart, home to Friday night football crowds, proud Huskie alumni, and travelers passing through for everything from NIU move-in day to graduation weekend. You'll be the one making sure every single one of them walks into a room that sparkles.

• Lead, schedule, and inspire a full housekeeping team - room attendants, house persons, laundry crew, and supervisors - keeping every shift running like clockwork.
• Build smart staffing schedules that flex with occupancy, campus events, and seasonal DeKalb rushes.
• Keep guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas polished to true Hilton standards.
• Roll up your sleeves for regular inspections, catching the little details before guests ever notice them.

• Recruit, train, and mentor a housekeeping team that takes pride in their work.
• Coach, evaluate, and celebrate great performance - while holding the line on hotel policies and Hilton brand standards.
• Manage schedules, attendance, and productivity with fairness and consistency.

• Protect Hilton’s reputation for cleanliness with sharp room inspections and quick corrective action.
• Turn guest feedback into fuel for constant improvement.
• Make sure every VIP, every Hilton Honors member, and every NIU parent weekend guest feels the difference.

• Manage supplies, linens, and amenities with an eagle eye on cost and waste.
• Oversee laundry operations, par levels, and replacement schedules so nothing ever runs short.
• Keep your department’s budget and labor costs running as tight as your linens.

• Champion OSHA compliance, Hilton safety standards, and proper chemical handling.
• Train your team on safe practices and accident prevention - because a safe team is a strong team.

• Partner with Front Desk on VIP arrivals and room readiness.
• Coordinate with Maintenance on repairs and preventive upkeep.
• Sync with Sales on group bookings and special requests - because DeKalb sees its share of campus visitors, sports teams, and family weekends.

• 3+ years of hotel housekeeping experience, including 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards, room inspections, and laundry operations.
• Proven ability to schedule staff and manage labor against occupancy.
• Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that keep a team motivated even on the busiest weekends.
• Comfort with property management systems and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays - DeKalb's calendar is busy, and so are we.

• Experience with Hilton brands (Hampton, Home2 Suites, or other Focused Service properties) and systems like OnQ.
• Multi-property housekeeping management experience.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
• Solid knowledge of OSHA requirements and chemical safety.

• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
• Able to push, pull, and lift 30-50 lbs (think linen carts and supply cases).
• Ready to move around the property throughout your shift, staying active and engaged.
