Inside Sales Representative

Location: DeKalb, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to join a growing manufacturing organization serving the electrical utility, construction, and distribution industries. This role is critical in supporting infrastructure projects, power grid expansion, and emergency restoration efforts across the country.

The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building customer relationships, and have experience supporting sales within a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution setting.

Key Responsibilities Order & Customer Account Management
  • Process and manage incoming sales orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify product availability and coordinate order fulfillment.
  • Track shipments and provide customers with timely delivery updates.
  • Maintain customer account information and ensure a high level of service.
Pricing & Quotation Support
  • Prepare competitive and accurate customer quotations.
  • Calculate pricing, freight, and value-added service costs.
  • Maintain customer pricing agreements and pricing documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure quote accuracy and profitability.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, distributors, contractors, and utility partners.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone and email.
  • Resolve order, shipment, and service-related issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Build strong relationships that drive customer satisfaction and retention.
Sales & Business Development
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
  • Conduct proactive outbound calls to support customer growth and engagement.
  • Partner with outside sales representatives to develop and expand key accounts.
  • Support initiatives that drive revenue growth and customer loyalty.
Qualifications Required
  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, account management, or sales support.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM and/or ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong math and analytical abilities for pricing and quoting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial products, wire and cable, electrical distribution, construction materials, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with technical products and specifications.
  • Experience working with distributors, contractors, utilities, or industrial customers.
