The Golf Shop Attendant shall be responsible for the daily operation of the Golf Shop at River Heights and Buena Vista Golf Courses and assists in other areas as required.
PAY RATE$15.00/hour - $17.00/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensures that activities and programs at the golf facility are conducted with a customer-oriented presentation that reflects positively on the facility and the DeKalb Park District.
- Works to provide a safe environment for both staff and patrons.
- Responsible for the daily safety inspection and cleanliness of the Golf Shop and log/report any necessary repairs to the Golf & Rental Facilities Operations Manager.
- Responsible for the daily financials of the Golf Shop ensuring the District's cash handling procedures are followed.
- The Golf Shop Attendant will assist in tournaments, outings, and special events as required.
- Assist in retail sales of golf merchandise.
- Assist in weekly inventory procedures/controls and preparing reports.
- Assist in the daily maintenance and repair of the clubhouse facility as needed.
- Adheres to the dress code for Golf operations.
- Assist with custodial services, carpet cleaning, and snow & ice removal as needed.
- Assist the Food & Beverage operations as required.
- Works in other departments of the Park District as needed to maximize Park District resources.

The employee is required to climb up and down various structures within this facility and be able to manage heights not to exceed 15 feet on occasion. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds by themselves or 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near people playing golf, high pressure irrigation, pumps and motors, high voltage, mowing and construction equipment, motorized golf carts, hydraulics under pressure, fuel, oils, cleaning products, etc.
Several bodies of water, hot and cold surfaces and equipment associated with food preparation, alcoholic beverages and equipment associated with concessions, HVAC systems, or in adverse weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to fertilizers and pesticides used in the operation of a golf course. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of the game of golf.
- Well organized and ability to work independently as well as with others.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid Illinois driver's license.
- City of DeKalb TIPS certification.
- Safe Food Handlers certification.
- Requires evenings, weekend and holiday hours.
