Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Dekalb, Illinois — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

Pay
  • Hourly Pay: $20.30 per hour
  • Overtime Pay: $30.45 per hour
  • Additional Pay: $2.00 per hour added when assigned to E shift
  • Schedule:

    E Shift – Monday through Friday from 5:15 PM to 1:45 AM

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • One (1) year or more related warehouse or powered industrial truck experience (preferred)
  • Valid Forklift Operator's License (certified)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships at all levels
  • Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with good attendance
  • Self‑motivated with a high degree of initiative
  • Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
  • Must stand for long periods and work a flexible schedule across shifts
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices
Responsibilities
  • Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
  • Adhere to performance measurement guidelines per contract
  • Accurately pick, pack, audit, tote induction, staging, and load/unload trucks
  • Handle paperwork: picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned
