The teacher will establish and foster a positive classroom environment, maintain compliance with district policies, and develop academic and social growth for students.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university
- Teaching certification recognized by the State of Oklahoma
- Experience with children or in a classroom setting (preferred)
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Maintain all records and the comprehensive computer database necessary to complete annual child counts and other state and federal reports required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education; teach academic content as designated to pupils in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education, with activities aligned to current state standards.
- Adhere to district and school policies as set forth by district and site handbooks.
- Provide a learning environment where all students feel safe and successful.
- Instruct pupils in basic subject matter specified in state law and regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials; provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt curriculum to each pupil’s needs.
- Monitor and evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth toward goals, adjust as needed, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil progress and interpret the school program.
- Identify pupil needs and collaborate with other professional staff members to assess and provide interventions or resources for pupils’ health, social‑emotional, and academic needs.
- Enhance professional pedagogy through in‑service education and self‑selected professional growth opportunities; set goals for professional growth and seek guidance.
- Perform additional duties assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
- Language and grammar:
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos. - Reasoning ability:
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
