Job Overview
Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and works under guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role focuses on donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs; follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings that require medical or technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents, determining whether further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate degree from a recognized nursing program meeting state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Competitive hourly wage range of $23.04 – $31.68 (actual wage based on qualifications, experience, and location). Employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time per year and up to 120 hours of paid vacation upon hiring.
CompensationHourly wage range: $23.04 – $31.68. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location. The wage offered will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
