The Role at a Glance
The Agency Instructor I, under direction, will assist in training various specialty skilled and/or semi-skilled courses within a specified program. Will utilize his/her knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction. Will perform online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or may provide technical assistance in a specialty area.
Will use a variety of media to present course material. May assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content, when necessary, to meet learner needs.
The instructor is expected to maintain their technical competence and skills and will report to the Training Coordinator/Manager. The Agency Instructor I must reside in Texas Region 3 (TEEX Regional Map.)
Qualifications of the Role
* Bi-lingual (English/Spanish).
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
* Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
* This position is located in Region 3. (TEEX Regional Map.)
TCEQ Sponsor Requirements
One year of experience in training adults, and 60 hours of classroom instructional experience OR
Completion of approved Instructor training courses in:
1. Methods of Teaching OR Effective Instructional Techniques
AND
2. Instructional Design and Evaluation OR Organizational and Use of Training Materials
Equivalency:
Will consider an associate's degree and five years of experience or a high school diploma/GED and seven years of experience. Must also have all TCEQ, bilingual, and license/certification requirements.
* Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
* Texas Class "B" Water license.
* Texas Class "B" Wastewater license or Wastewater Collection II or III.
