Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Biology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Classroom teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.

    D. in Biology from an accredited institution and prior university teaching experience.
  • Blackboard experience.
Primary Responsibilities
  • The Natural & Behavioral Sciences Department periodically seeks qualified, part-time instructors to teach freshman and sophomore-level biology courses.
  • Teach face to face and/or online courses at a variety of days and times.
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material. Use a course syllabus for each course, following established SRSU guidelines.
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and provide prompt feedback on progress.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and community.

This position is classified as Security-Sensitive and is thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094, which authorize employers to obtain and review criminal history record information for applicants.
