Opening in 2026, COTA's amusement park is a 20-acre theme park featuring two first of their kind Roller Coasters and over three dozen rides.

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Construction Equipment Operator / General Laborer to join our team. This position is responsible for safely operating construction equipment while also performing general labor duties on job sites as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and willing to assist with all phases of construction work.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

* Operate construction equipment including excavators, skid steers, loaders, backhoes, dozers, rollers, and compactors

* Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance (fueling, greasing, cleaning)

* Follow blueprints, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors

* Assist with site preparation, excavation, trenching, grading, and back filling

* Work safely around underground utilities and active job sites

* Communicate effectively with ground crews and spotters

* Identify and report mechanical issues, safety hazards, or site concerns

* Maintain production standards while meeting project schedules

* Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized

* Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies

General Labor Duties

* Assist with site preparation, grading, trenching, and cleanup

* Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment

* Perform manual labor including lifting, digging, shoveling, and carrying materials

* Support other crew members as needed to maintain productivity.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED preferred

* 3-5 years of experience operating construction equipment

* Demonstrated ability to operate equipment independently with minimal supervision

* Valid equipment operator certification and/or license preferred

* Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety procedures

* Strong reliability, time management, and safety awareness

Preferred Skills & Certifications

* OSHA 10 a plus

* Experience with GPS- or laser-guided equipment

* CDL preferred but not required

* Experience in civil, utility, road, or commercial construction

Physical Demands

* Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms

* Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds

* Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull

* Ability to stand/walk for long periods

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Physical Demand & Work Environments:

Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.

Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.

Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.

Ability to stand/walk for long periods.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
