Well-established Construction firm is looking to add an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join their growing team. The role is pivotal in our construction operations, handling all aspects of materials procurement and vendor management in the residential construction sector.
Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of the purchasing process, including preparation and issuance of Purchase Orders for construction materials and services.
- Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services as per project timelines.
- Oversee receipt and inspection of goods, checking quality and quantity and resolving discrepancies with suppliers.
- Maintain up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information to ensure accurate budgeting and cost analysis.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet the company's business goals and objectives.
- Foster strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and prices, and ensuring high standards of quality and service.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast future material needs and ensure resource availability for ongoing projects.
- Continuously assess market conditions and trends to identify potential impacts on procurement activities and adjust strategies.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing coordinator role, preferably within the residential construction industry.
- Profound knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and procedures.
- Proven experience managing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers.
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials, market rates, and quality parameters.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
- Proficiency in using purchasing software and related tools.
- Strong decision‑making skills and the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
