Job Description
POSITION GOAL
To provide the finance functions for the Volusia County Schools.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Accounts Payable- Assist with coordinating and processing weekly accounts payable check cycles – including ACH Payments for payroll vendors each pay period.
- Assist with coordinating downloading of subsidiary systems into Oracle’s accounts payable system.
- Assist with coordinating month end closings for Payables.
- Assist with processing and distributing various accounts payable, internal control, and daily operational reports.
- Assist with issuing any on-demand payments and voids.
- Assist in reconciling the district’s school food service and extended day bank accounts.
- Order deposit slips and stamps for school food service and extended day.
- Assist in reconciling the district’s school food service and extended day bank accounts.
- Process journal entries.
- Record revenue received into Oracle. Prepare bank deposits.
- Invoice for student nutrition services and extended day for indirect costs.
- Responsible for adding and replacing users, account profiles for County Budget Pcard transactions.
- Supervise internal accounts and oversee the Centralized Bookkeeping program.
- Assist in creating an updating Internal Accounts policies and procedures.
- Bookkeeper support for schools.

- Review internal account bank reconciliations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Finance Director.

Required Qualifications /Certifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Associate degree in Business Administration or a combination of relevant education and/or work experience.
- Five (5) years experience in public school finance.
- Computer experience with finance applications.
- Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with all school board personnel, federal and state auditors, other governmental entities, business partners and the public.
- Skill in the use of all program software and office equipment for efficient record keeping.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling problem situations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize a varied workload.
- Ability to use computer software commonly used in an office environment.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to function productively with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others and communicate effectively.

Salary Info$48,015 to $55,103
