Position OverviewAutomotive Service Technician – Coggin Ford Deland. Responsible for routine repairs, diagnosis, maintenance, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Use multi-point inspection form on each vehicle.
- Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair order.
- Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or repairs cannot be completed within promised time.
- Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Asbury standards.
- Conduct road tests to confirm work was successfully completed when necessary.
- Perform diagnosis and repair on vehicles, including light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems, HVAC, steering & suspension systems.
- Conduct preventive and routine maintenance services.
- Utilize product and technical training as assigned by manufacturer and management.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools.
- Maintain manufacturer Customer Satisfaction Index at or above specified goals.
- Complete work, notations, and time-keeping for warranty repair orders and filing of warranty claims.
- Report safety, welfare or integrity concerns to management.
- Ensure customer vehicles are returned clean.
- Complete required compliance training (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.).
- Comply with all federal, state and local laws, and company policy regarding safeguarding customer vehicles and information.
- ASE certifications highly preferred.
- Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred.
- Basic tools.
- Strong technical and mechanical skills.
- Team player with ability to work repetitively on complex tasks.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Pass pre-employment screening (background & drug test).
