Keville Enterprises, Inc., a growing Construction Management Consulting and Inspection firm, is seeking candidates experienced on FDOT Roadway and Bridge Projects for a full-time CEI Inspector to perform inspection services on a number of roadway construction projects in and around DeLand, FL

Duties

The CEI Inspector will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting construction activities to verify compliance with contract plans, specifications, standards, and approved procedures.
  • Monitoring contractor operations and documenting work progress, quantities, and project activities.
  • Preparing and submitting accurate electronic Daily Work Reports.
  • Attending and participating in project meetings as required.
  • Identifying and reporting non-compliant work, safety concerns, and deficient construction practices.
  • Verifying that required material submittals and approvals are in place prior to installation or construction.
  • Assisting project staff in maintaining quality assurance and quality control requirements throughout construction.
  • Promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with project safety standards.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet AT LEAST ONE of the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of roadway or asphalt construction inspection experience, including at least one (1) year of roadway and/or bridge construction inspection experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

Candidates MUST possess the following FDOT/ CTQP active certifications:

  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Inspector Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I (or equivalent ACI Level I certification)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience working on FDOT roadway and bridge construction projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare accurate technical reports and construction documentation.
  • Ability to effectively monitor construction activities and support timely project completion.
  • Knowledge of construction inspection procedures, materials testing requirements, and quality assurance practices.
  • Understanding of safety and occupational health regulations applicable to construction projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team environment.
Preferred Certifications

The following certifications are highly desirable but not required:

  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector
Other Requirements
  • Employees assigned to driving duties ("drivers") must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment.
  • Daily on-site presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend work during critical project phases or to meet project deadlines.
