Dining Room Aide

Job Description

POSITION GOAL
To assist with students during lunch periods and cleaning eating areas.

• Complete annual required training.
• Promote appropriate behavior among students.
• Deal in a positive and effective manner with disruption that may occur.
• Assist students with utensils and supplies.
• Assist students in learning to keep their area clean.
• Work as a member of a team without close supervision.
• Use effective positive interpersonal communication skills, maintaining composure under stress.
• Assist in cleaning dining room tables.
• Assist in emptying dining room trash.
• Assist with spills and mopping floors, as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent, preferred, or demonstrate ability to read and write at a functional level by successful completion of Volusia County Schools Level 1 skills assessment.

• Ability to work harmoniously with students and adults and to provide friendly service.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively at a fast pace.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Skill in interpersonal communication for cordial interaction with students and adults.
• Intermediate language skills.
• Intermediate reasoning skills.
