The Coordinator of Music Engagement co-leads music recruitment and enrollment strategy from initial artistic interest through audition, School of Music admission, and transition into the music program, while supporting institutional yield. The position is responsible for Hi-Notes, audition operations, faculty and student engagement, music-specific outreach, talent-scholarship coordination, and analysis of music recruitment activity in collaboration with the Dean. The position works in close partnership with the Assistant Director of Admissions, Music.
EssentialJob Functions and Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Dean of the School of Music, develop and execute the annual School of Music recruitment and engagement plan in partnership with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and in coordination with the Assistant Director of Admissions, Music, including the calendar, priority audiences, faculty and student engagement strategy, events, and music-specific communications supporting institutional enrollment goals.
- Oversee Hi-Notes operations, including registration, individualized schedules, student hosts, faculty coordination, visit materials, Slate records, day-of execution, and follow-up.
- Oversee audition operations and the School of Music admission process, including Slate setup, individualized schedules, faculty access and evaluations, rooms, student workers, music-specific communications, coordination and communication of artistic admission decisions, and event-day logistics; partner with Admissions to incorporate appropriate admissions presentations and student and family support.
- Lead music-specific outreach through FMEA, music-focused college fairs, high schools, community music programs, camps, festivals, competitions, and area days; coordinate faculty participation, School of Music participation in university enrollment events, and music recruitment advertising in collaboration with Marketing.
- Create individualized faculty and program experiences through lessons, classes, rehearsals, student hosts, Dean meetings, and related activities.
- Lead School of Music-specific engagement and transition activities that support institutional yield through faculty outreach, talent-scholarship coordination, Dean engagement, music program guidance, and connection to School of Music expectations.
- Analyze music-specific recruitment and engagement data, including Hi-Notes participation, auditions, faculty interactions, artistic admission, and talent-scholarship activity; maintain corresponding Slate records; and share identified music-specific yield risks and engagement opportunities with the Assistant Director of Admissions, Music and the Dean of the School of Music.
- Supervise student workers, manage event resources, maintain a shared recruitment calendar and pipeline review with Admissions, coordinate accepted-student outreach to avoid duplicate messaging, and respond to music-specific questions received through the music admissions inbox in coordination with the Assistant Director of Admissions, Music. The position does not read university applications, make university admission decisions, explain university financial-aid packages or enrollment costs, or manage enrollment deposits or university matriculation requirements.
