Extra USA, LP is a growing business and is seeking a full-time, on-site, Lead Aircraft Mechanic for our shop located in Port Orange, FL. The Lead Aircraft Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing aircraft assembly, maintenance and repairs, conducting inspections, troubleshooting aircraft systems, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Due to the growth of the business, this role will play a key part in the continued expansion of the company in the US market.
This role also has the potential for travel in support of our customers and their aircraft.

Today, that initiative has become the championship-based EXTRA aircraft line-up, including the aerobatic EA-200, EA-300L, EA-300LP, EA-330LT, EA330LC
, EA330LX

In 2022, Extra Aircraft elected to open a dedicated service and sales center in the USA, located in Deland Florida. Extra Aircraft USA, LP provides sales, aviation maintenance services and parts for the North American Market.
Working Conditions:
- All work is conducted in an aircraft hangar at KDED
- Hangar is located in Central Florida; temperatures may exceed 90 degrees during summer months.
Qualifications/Experience
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification (Required)
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an A&P (Required)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance or related field (Preferred)
- Ability to become an EXTRA Aircraft Certified Mechanic (at company expense) within 6 months of beginning employment. (Required)
- Ability to become an IA within 6 months of beginning employment (required)
- Ability to provide standard A&P tool kit (Required)
- Knowledge of composite repair, a plus
- Ability to perform aircraft touch-up painting, a plus
- Knowledge of basic avionics repair and install, a plus

- Knowledge of FAA regulations and safety standards

- Be able to lift equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to climb ladders, apply finger and hand dexterity in using hand tools, be able to move around the shop/hangar area and within aircraft continuously throughout the workday.
- Any other job-related duties assigned with the highest level of ethics, integrity, safety, and honesty.
