We are looking for an experienced CEI Inspector in the Daytona Beach, FL area to add to our FDOT highway team and work alongside our technical experts to provide contributions to the development of new techniques and standards. Help our team grow by mentoring early professionals while assisting resident engineers and project administrators in completion of inspection work in accordance with projects and client specifications.
MainResponsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of the day‑to‑day work by the contractor.
- Review and recommend accepting or rejecting daily reports submitted by the contractor.
- Perform inspection of the contractor’s quality control procedures.
- Perform material testing and verify that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures.
- Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measure quantities of materials placed.
- Perform sampling and/or in‑place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.
- High school diploma.
- Previous experience working on roadway or bridge projects.
- Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.
- CTQP certification.
- A technical school graduate or have a degree related to Engineering or Construction Management.
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting (limited to 20 lbs. of supplies, drawings, etc.). Longest distance carried 50 feet. Hand manipulation required for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Occasional need to reach or work above or below the shoulder. Must be alert to equipment in the field, and may have occasional travel, work near construction equipment, work near hazardous equipment, walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, potential work at heights, and be able to work day, nights or weekends.

The base salary range for this position is $59,000.00 to $60,320.00; it will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Since it is a contractor position, pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
