The Construction Support office is where engineers are committed to providing practical assistance and direction within each discipline. FDOT DeLand Maintenance 1650 North Kepler Road DeLand, Florida 32724 Hourly Rate: $15.00

Your specific responsibilities as an intern in this office will include assisting in the review of driveway, drainage, and utility permits. Review Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plans. Assess proposed driveway connections in accordance with Florida Administrative Code and FDOT standards and criteria. Review and assess proposed drainage connections in accordance with applicable Florida. Learn how to process permits and perform field reviews with permit coordinators.

Generate monthly permit reports in Microsoft Access database. Assist with review monthly estimates for construction projects. You will learn and assist construction project manager on different construction related projects.

The successful candidate will have the following required knowledge, skills, and abilities: knowledge of basic engineering principles and concepts; skills in use of a personal computer (PC) and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; organization, time management, and task prioritization. Minimum qualifications must include being at least eighteen (18) years of age and authorized to work in the United States and provide identification supporting citizenship or authority to work for the duration of program participation.
