Accounting Manager; Lab Operations

Mission Hires is partnering with a growing healthcare laboratory services organization to hire an Accounting Manager to lead the financial accounting team supporting lab operations in DeLand, Florida. This hybrid role oversees core accounting functions, monthly close, GAAP/SOX compliance, financial reporting, AP, reconciliations, and operational analytics while collaborating with cross-functional leaders to improve processes and support strategic decisions.

• Lead and supervise the DeLand-based accounting and financial reporting team
• Own and manage the monthly close process to ensure timely, accurate journal entries and reports
• Review financial transactions for GAAP, SOX, and internal policy compliance
• Oversee accounts payable activities and balance sheet reconciliations
• Review reconciliations and accounts receivable responses for accuracy
• Prepare executive-level financial presentations and reporting packages
• Analyze financial statements, explaining key variances and performance drivers
• Provide financial and operational analysis to support leadership decisions
• Partner with operational leaders to understand business needs and develop solutions
• Lead or support cross-functional process improvement initiatives
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting support as needed
• Ensure high-quality analytical outputs and support special projects as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and executing month‑end close processes
• Proven financial analysis and business process evaluation skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Preferred:
  Experience in FP&A
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of relational databases
• Preferred: SQL query writing experience
• Preferred:
  Master’s in Accounting (MAcc) or CPA certification
• Preferred:
  Exposure to healthcare or laboratory services environments
• Work Model:

Bonus: $10,500 potential variable bonus
