MBI is seeking a detail-oriented Bindery/Finishing Operator to join our production team in DeLand, FL. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment and takes pride in precision, consistency, and high-quality work. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining bindery and finishing equipment, including UV coating, laminating, die-cutting, cutting, folding, gluing, and stitching. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established processes, and a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and meeting production deadlines.
Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and maintain finishing and bindery equipment, including UV coaters, laminators, die-cutting, cutting, folding, gluing, and stitching machines
- Read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and production schedules
- Monitor machine performance and material quality throughout production runs
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and tolerances
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency
- Coordinate job flow in alignment with production schedules and priorities
- Prepare and stage materials for finishing and bindery processes
- Complete and maintain accurate production logs, material usage, and machine settings
- Perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in bindery, print production, or related field
- Knowledge of bindery equipment operation and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to production specifications
- Familiarity with workplace safety regulations
Preferred (but not a must):
- Experience in a high-volume print or direct mail environment
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules and work orders
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
