Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
The Product Test & Calibration department within Cardinal Health Manufacturing is responsible for the cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment. The Sr. Technician – Product Test & Calibration is responsible for providing preventative maintenance and technical support to improve the efficiency of facility equipment, minimize downtime, keep records and databases updated, perform general repairs and installations, and maintain the plant’s equipment and buildings.
This position also assists in training staff.
- Coordinate and perform unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications on assigned equipment as needed, documenting changes according to operating procedures.
- Assist in the maintenance of equipment and provide instruction to maintenance personnel during the process.
- Provide technical assistance as requested and arrange for additional support if necessary.
- Ensure proper set-up of facility equipment according to procedures and product specifications at the completion of assigned tasks.
- Observe plant regulations and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Transport hazardous waste to accumulation areas.
- Be on a call in/on call status when needed.
- Apply company policies to complete a variety of tasks.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of jobs outside the area of responsibility.
- Maintain appropriate licenses, training, and certifications.
- Work on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues.
- Assist in recommending new processes on assignments.
- Adhere to all quality guidelines.
- Work with limited supervision, occasionally involving review of output by a work lead or supervisor.
- Provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members.
- 2‑4 years of experience in equipment maintenance or a related field (preferred).
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and stand for the entire shift.
- Comfortable working at heights regularly.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Anticipated hourly range: $23.65 – $33.35 per hour based on experience (includes shift differential).
