English Language Learning Teacher (0.5 FTE) - Delano High School
Delano High School is looking for a dedicated professional with a focus on student achievement and reflective growth to assist our team as an ELL teacher. The successful candidate will make a positive contribution to improving student academic and social/emotional behaviors in support of our mission. The successful candidate will provide push in or pull out support to individuals or small groups of students to further the educational goals and support the individual needs of the student.
The candidate, in coordination with the building principal and other EL team members will be able to determine their days and hours worked to meet the learning needs of students - hours worked will average 4 hours per day over the course of a week.

- Collaborate with school and district staff to acquire and/or create a highly effective and rigorous curriculum.
- Effectively create and deliver daily lessons and provide needed support for students to achieve learning objectives and broader learning goals.
- Maintain and report accurate student attendance and performance records
- Collaborate effectively with school and district staff as part of a department team and other leadership committees.
- Effectively deploy classroom management strategies in support of positive school and classroom culture and climate
- Uses flexible thinking and has the adaptability to address student needs and respond calmly during crisis situations.
- Communicate with parents in a timely manner. Maintain positive and constructive communication with students, staff, parents, and community.
- Work collaboratively with parents and other staff members to reinforce the educational program and advocate for each student.
- Facilitate ACCESS testing and reporting.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide effective teaching strategies while adhering to the district philosophy and vision.
- Create a classroom environment that responds to the needs of individual learners.
- Translate lesson plans into learning experience in a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Required
:
- An appropriate MN professional teaching license (K-12 EL) or the ability to attain one.
- Fluent/literate in a second language preferred.
