Position: Planificateur / OPC ferroviaire

Railway Project Planning And Coordination Manager

In liaison with the project owner, project teams, and operational stakeholders, you will lead the planning, scheduling, and coordination of the design and construction phases for railway projects. You will ensure the maintenance of schedules, optimization of resources, animation of steering committees, and production of reporting deliverables necessary for the smooth running of operations.

Main Missions
  • Develop, update, and monitor the general project schedule (design and construction phases: EP, AVP, PRO, REA), integrating client milestones, operational constraints, and regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinate the schedules of the trades (civil engineering, tracks, signaling, electrification) and external contractors to ensure consistency of activity sequences and interfaces.
  • Prepare, lead, and formalize planning steering meetings (launch, progress points, COPIL, COPIL-RISKS); write and distribute minutes and action plans.
  • Monitor construction capacities and propose optimized scheduling scenarios in coordination with the project owner and the project manager.
  • Manage requests for schedule modifications (FMEP or equivalent): assess the impacts on deadlines/costs/resources and propose mitigation measures.
  • Set up and update monitoring indicators (progress, remaining to do, deviations, risks) and produce regular reports for project steering and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the control of study costs through the optimization of charges and the monitoring of budget allocations.
  • Support the preparation of construction capacities (phasing, intervention sequences, coordination of closures/neutralizations) in liaison with operators.
  • Participate in the capitalization and continuous improvement of planning methods and tools (MS Project, COPLANN or equivalents).
Profile Sought
  • Degree:
    Bachelor’s +4 / Bachelor’s +5 (engineering school, project management master, civil engineering or equivalent) or experienced technician with significant experience.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 3 to 5 years in planning management / PMO on infrastructure projects; railway experience highly desirable.
  • Knowledge:
    Good understanding of railway operational constraints, public procurement procedures, and design/construction phases (conception, execution, commissioning).
  • Tool skills:
    Mastery of COPLANN and/or MS Project; knowledge of reporting and imputation follow-up tools.
  • Qualities: rigor, organizational skills, autonomy, analytical and synthesis capabilities, relational skills, and aptitude for multi-actor coordination work.
  • Languages:

    fluent French required; technical English appreciated depending on project context.

Technical Skills

  • Management of multi-actor schedules, consolidation of schedules, and management of interface constraints.
  • Experience with construction site scheduling methods and railway phasing.
  • Ability to produce monthly imputation balances, follow up on remaining tasks, and perform variance analyses.
  • Knowledge of railway construction preparation processes (phasing, preparation of capacities, operational safety).
  • Mastery of project communication tools: dashboards, reporting, minutes, and action plans.
