Volt is immediately hiring for a Seasonal Service Technician in Delano, CA at $20-$23/hour.

As a Service Technician, you will install, service, and maintain equipment located exclusively within a single customer facility. Your role focuses on ensuring all machinery and chemical systems operate at peak efficiency. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within one consistent location.

This is a seasonal role, operating in alignment with the customer's schedule, typically October through April–July.

• Service, maintain, and troubleshoot JBT machinery and chemical systems within the packinghouse.
• Mix and test chemical solutions to verify correct dilution and product effectiveness.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment and systems remain fully functional and in good repair.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with facility personnel and management.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of chemical usage, system performance, and maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Manage inventory for leased machinery parts and chemical supplies to prevent shortages and ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Collaborate with Technical Service to ensure proper application and handling of JBT chemical products.
• Complete required checklists, documentation, and delivery logbooks to meet JBT standards and food safety requirements.
• Fabricate, assemble, or install leased machinery components as needed.

Mandatory Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working on industrial machinery.
• Basic mechanical skills for maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
• Ability to work day or night shift based on operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical School certification.
• Experience with electrical circuitry.
• Computer programming or PLC programming experience.
• Packing house operations background.

Must be capable of:

• Working 8+ hours per day, up to 7 days per week during peak season.
• Working around industrial machinery with exposure to noise, chemicals, and fumes.
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, squatting, and stepping on/off equipment.
• Working in environments ranging from moderate cold to extreme heat.
• Using hand tools frequently.
