What You’ll DoAs a Ready‑Mix Driver you will deliver ready‑mixed concrete and associated products to construction sites within a reasonable proximity, due to the perishability of the product. The daily work schedule may consist of 5‑10+ hour days, with overtime on a voluntary or mandatory basis for the work week and on Saturdays, depending on business level requirements. You will start and end your day at the same location and benefit from a Home Nightly Tuition/CDL Reimbursement Program, weekly pay, medical and dental benefits, and a 401(k) with company match.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform pre‑trip inspection of the ready‑mix truck in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Fill the water tank before each delivery by inserting a rubber hose, checking that all valves are shut, and ensuring the correct amount.
- Retrieve delivery ticket, drive or back the truck under the plant (depending on plant configuration), and charge the mixer to receive concrete while taking any admixtures or ancillary products listed on the ticket.
- Transport the truck safely to the job site and arrive with the desired slump within customer or job specifications.
- Maneuver the truck in often unstable ground conditions while observing the customer’s equipment and site conditions.
- Add necessary ingredients such as fibers, chemical foam admixtures, cements, or integral colors at the plant or job site.
- Place chutes from the fender or hanging rack onto the main chute at the rear of the truck for discharge, then wash the chutes in the wash‑out system or other designated location after each discharge.
- Complete all required paperwork and collect payments where necessary prior to leaving the job site.
- Wash the truck with a hose and brush after each shift, using cleaning solution when needed.
- Communicate with dispatch via two‑way radio and truck status signaling system during the shift.
- Ensure all cash on delivery is placed in the COD envelope and locked box at the end of the shift.
- Call the schedule each day for your start time and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers, promoting the professional image and reputation of the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or
B. - Passing federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical, and obtaining a DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to safely operate the truck and perform tasks in accordance with company policy, state and federal laws.
- Readiness to adapt to varying job site conditions and customer needs.
Hourly: $36.00–$40.00.
