Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Delavan, WI team. You will be responsible for the selection, specification, validation, and lifecycle support of electric motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs) used in Water Supply and Water Disposal pump applications. The role works autonomously on high-impact projects, translating customer and business needs into robust, manufacturable product solutions.

This position is suited for an experienced engineer who is recognized as a subject matter expert, mentors others, and drives technical excellence across multiple projects and product lines.

Responsibilities
  • Own the technical suitability of motors and VFDs used on WSWD pumps, including performance, thermal limits, reliability, and application fit, and provide technical direction and guidance to project teams.
  • Lead the design and development of new products and major product improvements from concept through launch, setting technical direction, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring performance, quality, cost, and schedule targets are met.
  • Translate customer needs, VOC, and product requirements into detailed engineering specifications and design solutions.
  • Work closely with product management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and marketing to ensure designs meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, DFMEA/xFMEA activities, and stage‑gate new product development processes.
  • Support production and field issues through root cause analysis and corrective action to ensure continuous product improvement.
  • Define and execute design verification, validation, and reliability testing strategies, working with internal and external test resources as needed.
  • Analyze test data and field feedback to drive design improvements and ensure long‑term product performance and reliability.
  • Develop and evaluate new concepts, technologies, and materials that provide competitive advantages and contribute to intellectual property development.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less‑experienced engineers and cross‑functional partners, supporting their development and fostering a strong technical culture.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8–10+ years of progressively responsible product engineering experience.
  • Proven experience leading complex product development projects with minimal supervision and coordinating the work of others across functions.
  • Demonstrated interest in technical leadership, mentoring, or broader organizational impact beyond individual contributor responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of product/system integration, manufacturing processes, and field applications.
  • Experience with structured new product development processes (e.g., stage‑gate).
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more technical domains relevant to the product portfolio.
  • Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, or external development partners.
  • Prior involvement in patent or IP development.
  • Primarily an on‑site office environment; requires regular time in the engineering laboratory, on the manufacturing floor, and hands‑on physical activities related to product testing and production support.
