Welder / MIG/MAG/TIG
Job Summary
Perform ASME and/or PED code specified welding, including MIG and TIG processes, joining various metals and joint designs. Work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
Compensation & Bonus$1,500 sign‑on bonus.
Responsibilities- Select proper tooling and fixturing required to run the job.
- Set up the welding machine to the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) specified settings to achieve proper weld fusion and penetration in the weld joint.
- Inspect welds for defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Make required repairs to defective weld areas or materials.
- Weld or repair broken or special fixturing and tooling as needed.
- Notify quality control representatives and supervisors of any parts with defects.
- Coordinate with the production department on maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management, supervisory, and/or engineering staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- May or may not be required to obtain NBIC CI certification.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor/designee.
- Must complete all necessary TIG welding certifications and WPQ testing requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and process all instructions, written or verbal.
- Ability to read and understand basic manufacturing mechanical blueprints.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to interpret ASME and/or PED code WPS’s and other welding procedures.
- Ability to use lifting and moving equipment as required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Quality‑oriented mindset with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to complete all tasks safely and accurately.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed and alter hours as business needs dictate.
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two (2) years of related experience or technical school graduate specializing in welding curriculum.
The employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, stand and use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and occasionally sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WorkingConditions
The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is usually moderate. Specific PPE is required within the cell.
