Position: Swiss CNC Setup Programmer (Tsugami / Star / PartMaker)

Shift Options:

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday | 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday | 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
  • Shift premium available for 2nd shift
  • Typical 4x10 schedule with overtime available

Experience: 5+ years preferred (10+ years ideal)

Rapido Talent is partnering confidentially with a growing precision manufacturer in southeastern Wisconsin that continues to invest in new equipment, talented machinists, and long‑term growth.

This position exists because production continues to expand, creating an opportunity for an experienced Swiss CNC Setup Programmer who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and making a real impact on the shop floor.

If you are a machinist who likes wearing multiple hats—not just programming from behind a desk—you will fit in well here.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will be responsible for both programming and hands‑on machining support.

Your day may include:

  • Setting up and programming Swiss CNC machines
  • Developing and editing CNC programs using Part Maker CAM
  • Selecting tooling, setting offsets, and optimizing cycle times
  • Troubleshooting machining and production issues
  • Improving setup efficiency and repeatability
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives
  • Training and mentoring machine operators
  • Reading blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
  • Performing first‑piece and in‑process inspections
  • Working closely with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing performance
Machines, Controls & Software

You will work with modern Swiss machining equipment including:

Machines

  • Tsugami Swiss CNC Machines
  • Star Swiss CNC Machines
  • Tornos Swiss Machines

Controls

  • Fanuc Controls

CAM Software

  • Part Maker (preferred)

Additional Software

  • Solid Works (nice to have)

Inspection Equipment

  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Optical Comparators
  • Precision measuring equipment
What We're Looking For Required
  • 5+ years of Swiss CNC machining experience
  • Strong setup experience
  • CNC programming experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience selecting tooling and setting offsets
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to inspect precision components
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting the broader team
Preferred
  • 10+ years of Swiss machining experience
  • Experience with Tsugami or Star machines
  • Fanuc controls experience
  • Part Maker CAM programming
  • Solid Works experience
  • Experience mentoring operators
  • Continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing experience
