Job Information
Position Title: Maintenance Assistant
Wage: $20.00-$25.00/hour DOE
Shift: 1st
Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician Assistant to support our maintenance team with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with plastic injection molding machines, including diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and assisting with machine maintenance. This role will also provide support with general facility maintenance to ensure equipment and operations run efficiently.
Responsibilities- Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plastic injection molding machines and related production equipment
- Diagnose issues with injection molding equipment and assist with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance on molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and manufacturing systems
- Assist with machine adjustments, repairs, and equipment improvements to minimize production downtime
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes to support timely repairs
- Perform basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance tasks
- Assist with facility maintenance, including general building repairs, equipment upkeep, and maintenance projects
- Support maintenance technicians with installations, repairs, and continuous improvement projects
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs completed, and parts used
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all safety procedures
- Previous experience working with plastic injection molding machines and understanding their operation and maintenance requirements
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing injection molding equipment
- Previous industrial maintenance or facility maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment
- Preferred experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
- Preferred knowledge of injection molding processes, controls, and auxiliary equipment
- Preferred experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Preferred welding, fabrication, or machining experience is a plus
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks
