General Service Electrician; GSE

General Service Electrician (GSE)-1

First class industrial electrician with five (5) years’ experience in oil, chemical or petrochemical industries.

• Troubleshooting and repairing substation switch gear, PLCs, motors and lights.
• Bending and installing conduits for circuits and controls.
• Pulling wire and connecting circuits.
• Reading and interpreting ladder logic, schematic drawings (primary and secondary single line drawings).
• Working with diagnostic and test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter and megger.
• Coordinating work and functioning as a team member to complete tasks.
• Performing incidental work across various crafts and participating in training programs to maintain and upgrade skills.
• Using equipment and tools required to expedite efficient installation and repair of refinery equipment.

• Completion of a trades school curriculum; apprenticeship/journeyman or in‑house qualification program for the appropriate craft.
• Journeyman preferred.
• Ability to coordinate work and function as a member of a team.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills.
• Ability to pass a post‑offer pre‑employment physical, background check and drug screening.
• Basic physical proficiency; able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform physically active assignments, including work on high structures and within confined spaces.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
