GSO-Metals Mechanic

Job Title:

GSO‑Metals Mechanic – Repair and Fabrication of Piping.

• Repair and fabricate piping.
• Understand metallurgy and its application in the refinery.
• Install and remove blinds, orifice plates and ancillary systems.
• Responsible for installation/removal, fabrication, welding and repair on equipment including pipe, steel structure, reactors, heat exchangers, towers, heaters, boilers, tanks and other related refinery equipment.
• Use shop tools (pipe threading machine, drill press, cut‑off/band saw, break/rip press, etc.) and keep them in working condition.
• Read and interpret pipe prints.
• Take field measurements, operate forklift, basic rigging knowledge, bolt‑tensioning equipment.
• Perform all duties following refinery safety guidelines.

12–16 hour shifts as required; weekends, holidays, overtime.

• Welding certification in carbon steel and chrome‑molybdenum processes; apprenticeship program preferably completed.
• Minimum of five (5) years refinery maintenance troubleshooting, installation, and repair experience; petrochemical field experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and SAP.
• Eligibility or hold a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card).
