Responsibilities of a Central Supply Clerk:
· Organize storage and coordinate the delivery of supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
· Check invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, etc., with incoming merchandise.
· Ensure inventory is updated as required, when receiving and issuing supplies and equipment.
· Monitor utilization of supplies to ensure under and/or overuse is not occurring which would indicate gaps in the provision of resident care or waste of supplies.
· Answer inquiries from staff regarding products and supplies.
· Assist in developing methods for determining quantity of nursing supplies and nursing equipment
· Ensure that supplies and equipment are properly maintained.
· Ensure that vendors provide appropriate material safety data sheets (MSDSs) in accordance with current OSHA regulations and the facility’s policies and procedures.
· Ordering supplies as need for the facility and following up on any back orders
· Ensure storage instructions are followed.
· Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Administrator
Qualifications of a Central Supply Clerk:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work independently and/or part of a group.
Previous Healthcare experience is preferred.
