Automotive Mechanics

Position Overview

We’re looking for full‑time Automotive Mechanics to join Mavis at one of our service centers in the New Castle, DE area. Mavis is one of the largest tire sales and automotive repair chains in the United States, operating more than 2,000 retail locations.

Mavis’s automotive mechanics inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services.

Responsibilities include:

• Undercar repairs such as brakes, struts, and shocks.
• Completing state‑mandated inspections.
• Changing oil and filters and checking fluids.
• Replacing worn parts.
• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.

Mechanics must stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, and reach. They are required to lift or move items weighing over 50 pounds regularly.

To be eligible:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Two years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance or a combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties.
• Extensive tool box of personal tools used for undercar repairs.

Preferred qualifications:

• State inspection license(s).
• ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).
